Formerly Singing for the Terrified, now One Voice...

held their first ever public performance with an amazing concert in aid of The Meningitis Trust at The Cheylesmore Community Centre, Cheylesmore, Coventry on December 13th 2007. Supporting acts a’cappella trio Free Harmony and Singer Song Writer Ian Abbot completed the line up and performed to an audience of 200 people who were enthusiastic and supportive to say the least! With outstanding unsolicited feed-back and emails of congratulations we were truly overwhelmed by the support and the reception we were given. It was heartening to see so many young people in our audience and to know that they too enjoyed our repertoire of world music and original songs. We raised £868 for the charity and One Voice really did themselves proud. I congratulate them all for their tremendous efforts and for an outstanding year of progress and achievement! Thank you to one and all!!

Following on from our concert, the following week One Voice held our Christmas celebration and took over the whole of the top floor of the Sarogoan restaurant in Cheylesmore on December 20th. What an evening that was!! We were made so welcome. The food was outstanding and the spontaneous singing was a joy……(even the waiters joined in!!) and I didn’t even need to give any starting notes!!!! What a long way we have come in such a short time. The evening ended with an unexpected ode and a gift for yours truly!! For those who weren’t able to come… maybe one or two, here’s the ode, but this is also my opportunity to thank you all for your VERY generous gift!!! THANKYOU
